Mama Winnie Mandela draws her last breath
Former Struggle Icon Winnie Madikizela Mandela has died Yesterday aged 82. The Eastern Cape born Stalwart  has been in and out of the hospital due to a long illness. However Yesterday She succumbed to a long illness at the  Netcare Milpark Hospital , Johannesburg. Madikizela was very vital in Fighting for South Africa's freedom during the apartheid era. When the Former State's man was arrested Winnie Mandela was one of the struggle Icons who fought the apartheid Regime during Nelson Mandela's absence , according to her fellow Comrades Her activism and resistance landed her in Jail numerous times. Minister Jeff Radebe says South Africa lost a mother of the nation who was always honest about the current situation of the Anc.



Memories are all we have left of Mama Winnie
Nathi Mthethwa the minisiter of Arts and culture  describes the late Winnie Madikizela Mandela the master of the liberation movement whose heartfelt contributions will never be forgotten. Tributes and condolences have been overflowing following the passing of the anti-apartheid icon who yesterday passed on at the age of 81. Eldos born Grant Son author of the book a freedom soldier's heart a book based on Winnie Madikizela Mandela which was released on April 27th 2016 shared his sentiments.



Funeral arrangements made for Winnie Mandela
An announcement was made by The Presidency that a special official funeral will be held for the late Winnie Madikizela-Mandela at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto next Saturday, April 14th. In a statement made by President Cyril Ramaphosa a memorial service will be held April 11th at the Regina Mundi Catholic Church in  White City. In honour of the special declaration, the National flag will fly at half-mast at all flag stations countrywide, as well as at South African missions abroad says Ramaphosa. More details will be confirmed on events planned for the next few days to honour the late Madikizela-Mandela.



Klipspruit West Medical Centre burglary under investigation
A breaking and entry was reported in Klipspruit West this morning. It is understood that the burglars entered the surgery through the dentist wing of the centre. No suspects have been apprehended as yet, however, the owners of the medical centre handed the burglary over to police officials and an investigation is ongoing.
Massive Fuel Price Increase
A massive fuel price increase is expected to come into effect at midnight. South Africans are expected to brace themselves as this follows a 1% increase in VAT this past Sunday. Last week, Minister of Energy Jeff Radebe announced that motorists will have to pay 72 cents more for 95 octane while 93 octane could be going up by 69 cents and diesel is expected to increase by approximately 65 cents per litre.

JMPD officer Shot and killed in her Kasi
Earlier this morning JMPD officer Ayanda Zulu was shot and killed in Soweto, after allegedly being confronted by two suspects, she was reportedly shot twice during the incident. In light of this, Public Safety MMC Cllr Michael Sun has called for a special task team to be formed; this team will be responsible for investigating the murders of metro police. Working with SAPS, the JMPD says they are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the suspects are found

ANC National Executive Committee pays tribute to Winnie Mandela
The African National Congress National Executive Committee of approximately eighty members paid tribute to Winnie Madikizela Mandela when they visited her Soweto based home earlier today. This follows The African National Congress calling on all women to wear black head wraps, berets in honour of the late mother of the Nation and apartheid stalwart Winnie Madikizela Mandela on Friday. The ruling party made this appeal on their social media platforms  and  was shared numerous  times.
