Female boxer from Eldos jabs her way to victory
Melissa Muller from Eldorado Park, South of Johannesburg, claimed victory after fighting in a bantamweight division boxing match over the weekend. Muller walked away with the title of South African bantamweight division at the Sandton Convention centre. The 32 year old has been boxing professionally for 6 years and has been waving the flag high for female boxers.
Latest cash-in-transit heist trend continues
Manhunt has been launched by police for approximately 8 armed suspects after a cash-in-transit heist took place at Southdale Shopping Centre in Johannesburg yesterday afternoon. Security officers were conducting their business at the shopping centre when the driver was allegedly approached by 8 suspects who pointed firearms at the driver, coercing him to open the cash van. The suspects allegedly proceeded to take an undisclosed amount of money from the cash van before making away. It is believed that a brown Audi A4 was used as a gateway car and was reportedly spotted on the scene of the heist. No injuries have been reported.

SAPS road show for 2018/19 intake this Friday
The SAPS will be hosting a road show this Friday, May 25th at the Don Mateman Hall at 10am as part of the recruitment of the 2018/19 intake. Forms will be available at the client service centre and at the Human Resource Management room at the Eldorado Park police station. Candidates should be between the ages of 18-35, be in possession of a grade 12 senior certificate, and should not have a criminal record.

New housing MMC hails from Eldos
Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba has reportedly removed M-zobanzi Ntuli from the Inkatha Freedom Party as the member of Mayoral Committee who is responsible for housing. Ntuli has been serving in this portfolio since the new administration which took over from office in 2016. It is reported that Ntuli is replaced by Meshack Van Wyk of the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP). Van Wyk has served as a councillor in the city of Johannesburg region since 2006. Mayor Mashaba's office made this announcement yesterday and said the decision was effective from May 18. Mashaba says although Ntuli inherited a department that has always performed poorly and has a legacy of corruption, and despite his best efforts, the department has not seen improvements.
More Cash-in transit heists being investigated
An investigation is being conducted by police in connection with the two cash-in-transit heists around Johannesburg. Yesterday morning a G4S cash vehicle came under attack at the Jabulani Mall in Soweto while another incident occurred at, a petrol station in Kempton Park two weeks ago, whilst Cash-in-transit heists also hit areas like Southdale and Boksburg last week. According to The police's Lungelo Dlamini they appealing to anyone with information to call the police and says that the criminals are still on the run.
Accident on main and golden highway alleged to have resulted in fatalities
It has been reported that accident has claimed the lives of children. The accident is believed to have taken place Morning at the traffic lights at the corner of main road and golden highway just after 7am. City of Johannesburg EMS could not confirm the accident or the number of fatalities.

Seven days left for Gauteng parents to register their children online
Gauteng parents are urged to register their children online as quickly as they can due to the deadline of applications for admissions draw to a close in about 7 days time for learners who are to start grade 1 and 8 for the 2019 academic year. The application for next year officially opened on April 16. On that day, 50 000 learners were already registered on the system. Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi says the department remained sure that the online application was the way to go he said Using the online system has made the application process transparent and fair and it has also eliminated manipulation and human indiscretions.
SAPS road show recruitment
The Eldorado Park South African Police Service will be hosting a road show this Friday, May 25th at the Don Mateman Hall at 10am as part of the recruitment for 2018/19. Camera presence to be expected at the next Shaynice Talla court hearing
Court has been postponed in the murder case of 4 year old Shaynice Talla. The accused, Cheslin Swartz, is believed to be a relative of the victim and has been charged with murder, while having previously rejected a bail application. Court proceedings took place in Lenasia, with findings of DNA evidence positively linking Swartz to the killing. Talla was found murdered after being missing for a few hours on September 27th, 2017. The case has been postponed to July 5th and will reportedly be filmed.
Youth invited to SAPS intake for 2018/19 today
The Eldorado Park South African Police Service will be hosting a road today at the Don Mateman Hall from 10am and are calling on all youth between the ages of 18 and 30 to join the police force. All applicants should ensure that they do not have a criminal record including those who have pending criminal charges. Application forms for the 2018/19 intake will be available at the service centre as well as the Human Management room at the Eldorado Park police station. The purpose of the roadshow is to give interested parties more information on the intakes. Applicants should be in possession of a matric certificate and should be fluent in at least two languages, one of which is English. Communications Officer Captain Philemon Khorombi encourages the youth to come out in numbers. Applicants should also be in possession of a driver’s license, however, 10% of Gauteng based applicants will be considered without drivers license.
