4 arrested for illegal firearms
Four suspects are due in court this week after being arrested for being in possession of illegal firearms last week. It is believed that the four men were discovered during a joint operation with the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s K9 unit as well as the flying squad in which law enforcement entities received a tip off on the 4 and executed the arrested near Lenasia last week. JMPD Spokesperson Superintendent Wayne Minnaar has said that police also recovered about 5 other vehicles that were hijacked or stolen in the Johannesburg area.

Ennerdale father who mistakenly shot and killed his son back in court
The Ennerdale father who accidentally shot and killed his 14-year-old son, Luyanda Tshabalala, at Fred Norman Secondary at the beginning of June is expected back in the Lenasia Magistrate’s court today. It is understood that the pupil was studying with fellow pupils when his father was waiting for him in the car before falling asleep. The boy later returned to the car where his father was and knocked on the passenger window. Startled by the knocking, the father allegedly pulled out his firearm and shot in the direction of the knock. 51-year-old Sibusiso Tshabalala handed himself over to the police following the incident and was later released on a warning by the court on June 7th to bury his son.

Water tankers dispatched throughout Eldorado Park amid water shortage
Eldorado Park and surrounding areas have been experiencing a water shortage since 9am this morning. This comes as a result of emergency maintenance work on union road and the golden highway which is expected to continue until 6pm this evening.




Bedridden senior citizens of Eldos to receive home visits by Sassa
As the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) continues balk swapping of old Sassa cards for new ones, frail senior citizens will be accommodated in Eldorado Park. Bedridden senior citizens’. The frail or bedridden can be forward their name, surname and address.



Free circumcision at Core Care medical centre
Eldorado Park males from the age of 10 can now receive free circumcision if they have not been circumcised. Core care medical centre is offering free circumcision every Wednesday in extension 6, number 67 Cavendish Street. Health benefits of male circumcision include reduced risk of HIV infection, lowered risk of men and women acquiring sexually transmitted infections, and reduced risk of some cancers, among others. Eldomaine receives soccer uniform through a global initiative
The Global Education Exchange is a culmination of service providers and artists from America that have come together to provide resources to the community of Eldorado Park. American artists Rap Sessions have returned to South Africa this year and have raised money to provide soccer uniform to learners at Eldomaine.




Gail Britoe Foundation celebrates its sixth birthday
The Gail Britoe Foundation in Eldorado Park celebrates 6 years in existence today. The Non-Governmental Organisation, in Extension 2, over the years has dedicated itself to giving back to the community by providing meals and clothing on a weekly basis. With the help of volunteers, the foundation has touched the lives of those in need.
