Somizi’s R2 million vehicle discovered in Eldorado Park after being hijacked
TV personality and Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo almost parted ways with his R2 million Mercedes Benz G-Wagon after the vehicle was hijacked last week. The hijacking took place in Ridgeway, in the south of Johannesburg and the vehicle was later recovered 16km away in Eldorado Park. Mhlogongo’s friend apparently was driving alone when the hijackers pounced on the Kliprivier Road off-ramp on the N12 highway. Somizi’s friend said the suspects took his business and personal bank cards and withdrew approximately R21000.

SA Idols Golden Ticket Winner waves flag high for Ennerdale
20 year old vocalist Dalene Swartz from Ennerdale is waving the flag high for her community after advancing in this year’s 14th season of South African idols. Dalene's blazing performance at the Johannesburg auditions won her the first golden ticket of the day when she sang the Amy Winehouse version of "Valerie" for which she received compliments from the judges of how she was the "Total Package".
The 20 year old already forms part of the Ennerdale based band KLIC, who’s repertoire ranges from house, jazz and original compositions. Swartz joined KLIC in 2016 and has helped brought success to the group as lead singer.

Spaces for Youth Summit hoping to motivate Eldos residents
Spaces for youth are presenting their second Turning Point Motivational and Leadership summit this coming Saturday at the Eldorado Park Secondary school. Saturday’s summit will see 3 of Eldos’ biggest inspirations share their stories to success. Comedy king pin and founder of Goliath and Goliath, Jason Goliath will be sharing all the ups and downs in journey to making a success of his business and will be joined by former Miss SA, Liesl Laurie as well as awarding winning Eldorado Park Comedian, Dillan Oliphant. Registration for the summit will start at 9 am and ticket prices for the learners and adults are R15 and R30 respectively.
Double murder sends shock waves through Ennerdale
Police are investigating a case of double murder this after two taxi owners belonging to the Ennerdale Taxi Association was allegedly shot and killed on Monday at the Phumla Mqashi taxi rank in Lenasia South. It is alleged that the taxi owners were monitoring the queue of passengers when two unknown started opening fire on them. Spokesperson for Lenasia South captain Mavela Masondo says authorities suspect that the incident was related to taxi violence he continues to say that no passengers were wounded during the incident and that no arrest has been made at this stage.

Oliver Reed trial to continue in Loren Dryer murder case
Suspect in the Loren Dryer murder trial, Oliver Reed, is expected to resume trial proceedings today. Dryer was Reed’s girlfriend and mother of his children at the time of her murder. Loren Dryer was allegedly murdered by Oliver Reed, on New Year's Eve of 2015 and was found dead on New Year's Day of 2016 at Oliver's home. It is also alleged that Reed had been an abusive partner for the duration of the relationship. Loren Dryer is survived by her 2 children and had died at the age of 22. Reed previously pleaded not guilty to the charge. The trial is set to continue at the Protea magistrate's court today from 9 am.
Loren Dryer murder case postponed
Suspect in the Loren Dryer murder trial, Oliver Reed, made a brief appearance in the Protea Magistrates Court.Loren Dryer was allegedly murdered by Oliver Reed, on New Year's Eve of 2015 and was found dead on New Year's Day of 2016, at Oliver's home. The case has however been postponed to the August 30, where a date for the final trail will be set.

Vuwani High Gets Revamped
In an attempt to revamp and keep local schools clean, Lurco Mining has embarked on a campaign to paint toilets at Vuwani Secondary School in Chiawel, Soweto earlier today. The purpose of this initiative was to give back to the community and encourage learners to live a healthy. The Lurco employees went to the school wearing their overalls and went on to do painting in the school’s toilets which were messy and made them be in a spotless situation. The school’s principal, Joseph Baloyi was excited about the initiative saying he is hoping that the relationship between the school and Lurco will go a long way in improving hygiene.
