Greater Eldorado Park Skills Development Centre Invites the Community to a Labour Expo
The greater Eldorado Park Youth Skills Development centre based in Eldorado Park ext 5, will be hosting an expo today. The GEPYSDC will be having the Department of Labour in attendance and has invited members of the Eldorado-Park Community to come out in their numbers with certified copies of their identity documents, qualifications as well as their C.V's. The expo will be taking place at the Don Mateman Hall in Sirkel Road, ext 5 Eldorado Park and is expected to start at 10 am.



2 year old Kliptown boy who drowned still not found
Police are still in search for a 2 year old boy who drowned in the Klipvalley River stream in Kliptown on Friday August 3rd. The toddler supposedly drowned during midday whilst playing with one of his friends.



Murder case of 4 year old Shaynice Talla postponed
the murder case of 4 year old Shaynice Talla has once again been postponed to August 20th due to outstanding DNA evidence of the second suspect. Court proceedings got underway today at the Protea Magistrate’s court in which the accused, Cheslin Swartz, is believed to be a relative of the victim and has been charged with murder. Previous court proceedings took place at the same court in Soweto, with findings of DNA evidence positively linking Swartz to the killing. Talla was found murdered after being missing for a few hours on September 27th, 2017.



Eldorado Park's Keanu Cupido Seals it for Cape Town City
Eldorado Park Born defender, Keanu Cupido, was the key player in Cape Town City’s 1-0 victory, over Maritzburg United in a MTN8 quarter-final, in KZN at Nanda, Yesterday.
The 19-year-old old defender, who is born and raised in Eldos, came in heavy pace, just at the stroke of half time, scoring the one and only goal in the match.
City midfielder, Thabo Nodada, who hit the assisting pass straight from the midfield, was handed the ‘man of the match’ award.

Body of 2-year-old found along the Klipvalley stream
According to the Johannesburg Emergency Medical services, the body of the 2-year-old, who recently drowned in Kliptown, was discovered At Klipriver stream, just a few minutes ago. The toddler supposedly drowned during midday, whilst playing with one of his friends, on Friday, August 3rd.

Robbery takes place at Crystal Mall
Eldorado Park SAPS has confirmed that a business robbery had taken place at the Liquor City Store in Crystal Mall, Eldorado Park ext 6. According to the police’s Brigadier Van Dyk, the security guards at the mall had been tied up by the suspects as they proceeded to rob the store. It has been alleged that there had been between 14 and 16 suspects involved in the crime, however Van Dyk further stated that an official list of stolen items could not be confirmed as an investigation is currently underway.



Apex Parents Picket Outside the School  
Recently a few parents from Apex Primary in Lenasia gathered outside the school to clean the school, but more importantly, they wanted the principal to vacate his post. Parents are adamant that the school is in a bad state and that the health of learners is at stake. According to community leader Fehme Gani the parents are demanding that GDE (Gauteng Department of Education) senior officials attend to the learners’ problems. They want the classrooms to be cleaned and want the school finances to be audited as they want to know how the school’s money is being spent. They had a similar protest three months ago but nothing has changed and they need transparency as far as the school’s finances are concerned.



No stones un-turned says lethal weapon forces after robbery at Crystal Mall.
The manager of the liquor store that was broken into at Crystal Mall Eldorado Park Extension 6 early hours of this morning reports that although he was not on the scene at the time of the break-in, he received a call informing him that security watching over the store had been held up. The manager then called the armed response team and alerted the owner of the liquor store of the incident.

Community Leaders and Ministers Called to Dedicate Their Time at the new South Skills Centre Today
Ministers and community leaders have being invited to the new south skills centre of excellence that seeks to service the poor, and young men and women overtaken by substance abuse. The event started at 10am this morning at Mahonie Crescent Ext 4 Eldorado Park.



Galaxy Biscuits Employees Striking Outside Eldos Police Station
Employees from Galaxy Biscuits located in Nancefield are currently having a peaceful strike outside the Eldorado Park police station, following alleged harassment claims by their supervisor as well as labour unrest. With it being women’s month underlying issues have however emerged regarding sexual harassment in the work place.  



Eldorado Park Build-it Under 13 Primary School Tournament this Saturday
The Build-it Under 13 Primary School Soccer and Netball tournament was confirmed in a meeting with sport head teachers from the Schools of Eldorado at the Don Mateman Hall, Ext.5 in Eldorado Park yesterday.

The tournament will be played at the Ext.6 Soccer Grounds, from 9am up to 5pm, on Saturday August 18th, with all schools in Eldorado, participating in the tournament. Parents and learners are to attend and support their respective schools, as the School that receives the best support, will receive a Major Prize.

Sparks Fly due to a Transformer Explosion in Eldorado Park
An electricity transformer unit in Turf Road, Eldorado Park has caught fire. It has been alleged that the transformer exploded, however the cause for the explosion remains unknown. It is also believed that electricity entity, City Power, as well as the Johannesburg Emergency Management Services are at the scene. Stay tuned to Eldos FM for more on this story.
