Wings of a Dove teach young children the value of diversity
With September being Heritage month, South Africans are encouraged to celebrate their diverse cultures and traditions. To do just that, the early child development centre Wings of a dove in extension 4 today is teaching young children the value of diverse cultures through a heritage celebration.
Eldos Active Aging feel pressure ahead of Nationals
The Eldos Acitve Aging, are under a lot of practise pressure, as they hope for their first victory at the National Aging games, that’s scheduled for next month.The Aging team comes fresh from recent victories, one of which is the Cluster Championship competition, that was played just last month, and the Aerobics marathon, at Walter Sisulu Square, over the weekend.
With the Provincial games in the bag for the third consecutive time, the Aging team heads to the Nationals as the favourites and Joburg City run Champions.

SASSA urges beneficiaries to swap old cards before September 30th
With the deadline fast approaching for SASSA beneficiaries to swap old cards for new ones, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is discouraging beneficiaries from using their old cards to withdraw money. Beneficiaries who still have not swapped their old cards are urged to do so before September 30th.

Eldorado Park Local Drug Action Committee commemorates Shaynice Talla a year after her passing
Today marks exactly a year since the discovery of the late 4 year old Shaynice Talla’s body which was found by residents of Eldorado Park in an open drain on the Koppie in extension 2. The case of her murder has been postponed to October 24 where it is believed that two witnesses will be taking the stand. To honor Shaynice leaders of the Local Drug Action committee together with residents from extension 2 decided to commemorate her life by feeding 500 kids from 3pm at the Yellow Ribbon Foundation on corner Milnerton and Mapela as well as convert the area where her body was discovered into a park. The community is asked to assist by donating paint, old tyres , rope, wooden poles, old benches, cement or anything that can be recycled and pimped to bring joy to the less fortunate. Should you be in a position to assist you may drop it off at The Yellow Ribbon Foundation in Ext 4.
